ALA Remote Academy
Ascend Leadership Remote Academy is a virtual academy dedicated to educating students in a online/hybrid setting. This remote academy is accepting student applications in grades 6-10 for the 2025-2026 school year currently. The Remote Academy will grow to add a grade level each year until it serves grades 6-12.

About the Program
ALA’s Aviator Academy will offer three different learning models for the 2025-2026 school year. These learning opportunities are as follows:
Grades 6-8 Blended-Ed Hybrid Learning:
​​Students in a hybrid learning model will be split up into 2 cohorts per grade level of 15 students. Students will come to campus two days per week from 8:10 AM to 3:10 PM for a full day of in person instruction.
Students will follow a schedule to attend in-person classes for English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and a rotating quarterly elective.
During the remaining three days in the week, students will work asynchronously at-home from their computer following teacher-made lessons posted to the school’s LMS of choice,

students who may need to attend frequent medical appointments

Students who work well independently but would like the benefits of in-person instruction periodically.

Grades 6-8
Full-Remote
Learning
ALA will offer a fully remote middle school learning option for students who elect to work from home or participate in a homeschool co-op model. Students enrolled in the fully remote learning option for middle grades will work asynchronously at- home three days per week from their computer following teacher-made lessons, projects, and exams posted to the school’s LMS of choice.
Two days a week students working remotely will login to a Google Meet session to attend a live virtual class for each of their core subject areas (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies).
Students will be able to receive live teacher support by scheduling office hours with Aviator Academy teachers throughout the week.

Grades 9-10
Remote Asynchronous Learning
ALA Remote Academy is excited to extend our remote asynchronous learning experience for high school students in grades 9 and 10. Students enrolled in this program may elect to work from home or participate in a homeschool co-op model.
Students enrolled in the fully asynchronous learning option for grades 9-10 will work asynchronously at- home five days per week from their computer using an online learning platform of the school’s choice.
High school remote learning students are required to meet with an Aviator Academy High School advisor at least one day per week (Fridays) for a minimum of 30 minutes either virtually or in-person for a weekly progress check in. Students will be able to receive live chat tutoring support for their coursework as needed on a 24/7 basis through the use of “Varsity Tutors”.

Key Features of ALA’s Remote Academy
Flexible Learning Experience: Our Remote Academy offers a personalized learning experience using teacher made curriculums in Middle School and an online curriculum for High School. This curriculum is aligned to North Carolina state standards and students will have access to a variety of digital resources, interactive lessons, and real-time feedback from certified teachers.
Supportive Learning Environment: Our dedicated team of educators and support staff will ensure that students receive continuous guidance and support. From academic advising to technical assistance, we are committed to helping each student succeed in the virtual learning environment.
Extracurricular Opportunities: Even in a virtual setting, students will have access to all of the extracurricular activities and clubs offered at ALA, allowing them to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with peers.
Parental Involvement: We believe that strong partnerships with parents are essential for student success. The Remote Academy will offer regular communication, resources, and support to keep parents informed and involved in their child's education.
