Below is significant information regarding Ascend Leadership Academy's Admissions process. Applications for the 2025-26 school year open on January 1, 2025.

Enrollment Timeline

January 1, 2025: Online application becomes available to the public via SchoolMint Online enrollment system.

January 1 - February 15: Open application period. for ASCEND LEADERHSIP ACADEMY (On-campus) Any interested student can apply to attend ALA for the upcoming school year.

January 1 - February 28: Open application period for ASCEND LEADERSHIP REMOTE ACADEMY. Any interested student can apply to attend ALA for the upcoming school year.

February 20 2025: Ascend Leadership Academy hosts the enrollment lottery to determine which students are accepted for the upcoming school year.

March 6 2025: Ascend Leadership Remote Academy hosts the enrollment lottery to determine which students are accepted for the upcoming school year.

After March 6, 2025: Students newly accepted to ALA are able to begin completing registration documents in SchoolMint. Applicants have 10 days from their acceptance date to complete all registration documents.
Enrollment Information
Lottery Process​
If ALA receives more student applications than spots available, we are required by law to host a public random lottery to determine which students shall be accepted. ALA's charter allows for approximately 80 students per grade level.

Lottery Priorities
Ascend Leadership Academy may give enrollment priority under the following circumstances as stated in G.S. 115C-218.45.

Children/Grandchildren of Full-Time Employees and Board Members.

Siblings of Current ALA Students
-
A student enrolled in a charter school that does not offer the student's next grade level.

Family Surname entered once (sibling applying)

Enrollment Requirements
North Carolina residency is the only requirement to apply to Ascend Leadership Academy.

Grade Levels for 25-26 school year
ALA will accept applications from students who will be in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders during the 2025-26 school year.

Enrollment Tours
To promote our school and allow potential applicants the opportunity to tour our campus, ALA hosts enrollment tours during the open application period. For dates and times of these tours please be review the information below:

January 15th @ 1pm (6th - 8th Graders Only) ​
January 29th @ 1pm (9th -12th Graders Only)
February 6th @ 10am (6th - 8th Graders Only)
February 13th @ 10am (9th-12th Graders Only)
