The mission of Ascend Leadership Academy is to develop successful student leaders by growing their self-efficacy, intellectual understanding, and social competence. ALA will accomplish this by applying innovative teaching methods, incorporating student cultural realities and cultivating student ownership in the learning community.
Our school leadership has identified educational programs that encourage student empowerment in the learning environment. These programs also are designed to nurture student talents and produce effective leaders for the 21st century.

Welcome to ALA
Ascend Leadership Academy (ALA) is a transformative Project-Based Leadership (PBLe) school. ALA is a tuition-free public charter school that is located in Lee County, NC.
ALA currently serves 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students from Lee and Harnett Counties. ALA serves approximately 80 students in each grade level.
Governor Cooper closes NC Schools due to COVID-19; ALA to implement Virtual Learning Program throughout the closure
ALA will be closed at minimum through May 15th. Fortunately, ALA teachers and administrators have been planning in the event that school closure was determined. ALA will implement a virtual learning protocol to ensure that learning continues during this time. ALA's administration has released the virtual learning protocol for students during the closure. Student's should complete the form below during the mandatory school closure that is a result of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Students should fill out this form between 9am and 12pm daily on virtual learning days. This is how we are tracking attendance during the school closure. Lee County Schools and Harnett County Schools "Grab and Go" lunch program
The mandatory school closure has had an adverse impact on a variety of aspects of our society. One of these aspects is providing children with nutritious meals daily. ALA students can benefit from the "grab and go" lunch programs provided by Lee and Harnett County schools. Please see below for more information about these programs.
